The Apostles foretold that after they died, the pure faith of Christ
would be corrupted by false teachings.  This Great "Apostasy"
or falling away from the true faith - would be the result of a compromise
with the ancient teachings of pagan Babylon.   John, when writing
about this great Apostasy - called it "Babylon The Great".   Why ?

Simply put - a false Christianity would arise - that would embrace
all the false idolatrous teachings of Ancient Babylon.

At the time of John's warnings about "Babylon The Great",
the ancient city of Babylon no longer existed - but her false teachings
live on - not only in pagan cults,  but even today,  in the false teachings
of  "Christendom".

With the celebration of "Easter" which is on the minds of many today,
how appropriate that the "Truth" about this So-called Holiday - should
be exposed for what it really is----  A compromise with Ancient Babylon.

With all the compromises that the apostate Church has made with
idolatrous Babylon -  Little wonder that she is called :

"Bible scholars further indicate that the Chaldean-Babylonian
priesthood did not make Pergamos their final home.
When the city was given to Rome, the priesthood sought
out the new power center and moved to the Italian
peninsula. Within the pagan Roman Empire they were
able to continue their ancient Chaldean practices.
This influence gradually extended into Roman Christianity.
According to John Walvoord, chancellor of Dallas
Theological Seminary, "when the teachers of the
Babylonian mystery religions later moved from Pergamum
to Rome, they were influential in paganizing Christianity
and were the source of many so-called religious rites
which have crept into ritualistic churches"

& Indulgences

Religious Extortion

During the Foretold Apostasy  - Rome invented numerous
ways to make and extort money from the people.  Using
the hope of heavenly reward and the fear of Hell and
Purgatory - Rome devised a system by which people
would give their money to the church -  in exchange for
a lighter punishment for their sins.  The people were
encouraged to purchase Mass Cards for their deceased
friends and relatives.

The Mass cards sold at Funerals - were said to
shorten their time in "Purgatory" and were said to
get them to heaven much quicker.   Each Mass Card
had different prices.  The cheaper cards purchased
would provide fewer prayers or Masses for the
benefit of the deceased.  The more expensive Mass
Cards - purchased a larger amount of prayers or
Masses to be said for the benefit of the deceased.  

The reasoning here - was that the more money spent
on Mass Cards - would pay for more prayers to be
offered by the Bishops or Priests.  And this would
in turn - cut down the amount of time that the
deceased would have to spend in Purgatory.

This of course is Religious Extortion.  We are judged
by our deeds and not by the amount of prayers said
in our behalf by a priest.    A place in heaven is
not bought with money - neither is punishment
increased or decreased because of a money transaction.

The sale of indulgences or a pilgrimage to a holy
place has no  affect on our redemption - regardless
of how much money is donated or spent in these efforts.

Mass  Cards

"Masses for the dead have infinite value
for the souls of the departed. The bereaved
can arrange such Masses with a priest to have
such Masses said.  Fees for such Masses are
usually $5 to $10 dollars, depending on the
diocese."

An Eyewitness Account :

Michael Servetus Villanovanus
burned at the stake
for rejecting "the trinity" doctrine

27th of October 1553

"Shortly after twelve o'clock,
a procession started from the town-hall of Geneva
-the chief magistrates of the city,
the clergy in their robes, the Lieutenant Criminel
and other officers on horseback... and in their midst,
with arms bound, in shabby, dirty clothes,
walked a man of middle age, whose intellectual face
bore the marks of long suffering...
Mounting the hill, the field of Champel was reached,
and here on sight eminence was the fateful stake,
with dangling chains and heaping bundles of faggots.
At this sight the poor victim prostrated himself
on the ground in prayer....
'Misericordia, misericordia!
Jesu, thou Son of the eternal God,
have compassion upon me!'
Bound to the stake by the iron chains,
with a chaplet of straw and green twigs covered
with sulphur on his head, with long dark face,
it is said that he looked like the Christ
in whose name he was bound.
Around his waist were tied a large bundle
of manuscript and a thick octavo printed book.
The torch was applied, and as the flames spread
to the straw and sulphur and flashed in his eyes,
there was a piercing cry that struck terror
into the hearts of the bystanders.
The faggots were green, the burning was slow,
and it was long before in a last agony
he cried again,
'Jesu, thou Son of the eternal God,
have mercy on me!'
Thus died in his forty-fourth year,
Michael Servetus Villanovanus,
physician, physiologist, and heretic.
...he remained faithful unto death
to what he believed was the Truth
as revealed in the Bible."
